Giving Back
At Whiteport we believe it's important to give back to the community in some way. We chose World Vision as our preferred charity as they guarantee the highest proportion of its funds get to those in need. As Australia's largest charitable group, they help over 20 million people every year.
Whiteport is proud to sponsor Mohamad who lives in Jerusalem West Bank Gaza. Mohamed and his family live in a rural area. His father is employed but at such a low wage, it is hardly enough to provide for his family. Thanks to our sponsorship through World Vision, Mohamed attends school. His favourite subject is drawing and he enjoys playing football.
The West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, which make up the Palestinian territories, are located in the Middle East. The estimated population is over 4 million. Some 97% of the population are Muslim. One in three children in the Gaza Strip suffers from malnutrition, and inadequate water supplies and the unequal distribution of water resources are serious problems. In this area, World Vision assists over 4,600 sponsored children, their families and communities with education and other basic needs.
